The visionary of his time and the strong supporter of the cause of education to masses, Mr. Surendra Agarwal lead from the front and gave a great boost to Quality school under Bidya Bharati Foundation Siliguri the well known banner of Delhi Public School in Siliguri in the year 2003, to foster moral and spiritual values, to motivate creativity and to instill social awareness. It started functioning on 7th April, 2003 with student strength of 635. That was the time when the area had not seen the type of modern school with all in-house amenities. It gave to Siliguri its best gift whereby the area will contribute in different areas of specialization from Arts to Science to Commerce at the school level. It lays great stress on all round development and has all facilities of sports like cricket, football, Lawn tennis, Swimming pool, Badminton etc. it has already produced leaders in academic, sports and Music fields and is sowing the seed for a better tomorrow for many children. In a short span of 9 years, the school is forging ahead having carved out a niche for itself among so many other schools in the city with around 4500 children from classes Nursery to XII having Arts, Commerce and Science in XI and XII. After the successful introduction of Total School Concept in 2001, under the aegis of Delhi Public School in Siliguri, DPS has become one of the best schools in the region of North Bengal today.

SIEM, an Institution set up by Bidya Bharati Foundation Siliguri, started its journey in the year 2009. After gratifying successfully to the need of Secondary Education through its aegis of Delhi Public School in and around Siliguri, Bidya Bharati Foundation has pulled up its socks to cater the growing needs of higher Technical education in the region of Siliguri and North Bengal. The functions of SIEM are limited to the following activities to start with in order to ensure a highly focused approach during the formative years of the integrated institute.

Delhi Public School - a co-educational English medium school at Joka, South Kolkata has been set up under the aegis of the BIDYA BHARATI FOUNDATION SILIGURI.
